Studentship Program Part 1- “And Now the Yoga”

May 8, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - May 12, 2019 @ 2:00 pm

Campbell Yoga Studentship Program

2018 Dates:

Part 1: June 13-17

Part 2: MAY 8-12

Join Jennifer for 2 extended modules of deep practice, personal inquiry, philosophical context and personal application of a well rounded practice. This 2 part series is geared towards serious students and current teachers who are not interested in learning (or reviewing) how to “teach” yoga on the mat but rather take the noble path of exploring the unifying process of Yoga for themselves.

Part one, entitled “And now the yoga” is coming back to our practice with the fresh eyes of a beginner. Laying down all expectations and stories and being completely curious about the process.

Part two is a deeper dive (after time steeping in the previous work) into the practice and process of real self-inquiry. The art AND science of yoga.

Part 1. “And Now the Yoga”

schools of yoga and philosophical context

introduction to mantra, mudra and meditation as a practice

introduction to the science of pranayama

dinacharya and fundamentals of ayurveda as means to self care

Importance of personal practice and it’s application

Limbs of yoga and ethical precepts

morning sadhana and afternoon open practices

Part 2. “The Art of Inquiry”

continuing deep dive into mantra, mudra and meditation

overview of nadi, chakra and bandha and their relationship

correlations of asana, pranayama and vayu

purusharthas and the bhagavad gita

morning sadhana and afternoon open practices

Involved in both will be study and discussion of ancient text, sanskrit pronunciation and energetics, application of the ethical precepts of yoga, commitment to practice, and cultivation of sangha (community).

Vegetarian and Vegan Meals will be offered at the house. Coffee and tea available throughout the day.
