Pranayama (a combination of breathing techniques, bandha, and concentration) brings down inertia and lethargy, creates peace and lightness in the body, heart/mind and is one of the most important preparatory measures for meditation. This is life long yoga practice. A variety of pranayama techniques are available to bring health, wellbeing and clarity to the practitioner. In this workshop we will look at and practice pranayama for calming and cooling the mind and the bodily systems.
Come develop your practice of pranayama as you learn how to structure and progress intelligently and uniquely for your needs.
Class will begin with a discussion on the aim of pranayama and its effective practice and will continue with an experience of simple preparatory practices, a long and deep dive into specific pranayama and end with deep rest.
